Montblanc 4810 Limited Elizabeth I Fountain Pen

Queen Elizabeth I ascended to the throne of England and Ireland in 1559, and over the next 44 years made her kingdom not only a world power that ruled the seven seas, but also Europe’s leading cultural nation. Today this golden age of British history is still known as the Elizabethan Era – a time when the English renaissance flourished, producing masters such as William Shakespeare and John Dowland. Montblanc pays tribute to this fascinating woman, queen and lover of culture with a stunning writing instrument – the Limited Edition Queen Elizabeth I. The elegant pattern on the cap and pen end is inspired by embroidery on the cover of “The Miroir or Glasse of the Synneful Soul”, a book Elizabeth gave to her stepmother, Katherine Parr. The lacquer on the barrel and cap recalls ermine, a symbol of royalty. A rose, the symbol of the Tudor house, and a cross with a green cabochon, are found on the clip. Her motto “Video et Taceo” (“I see, and say nothing”) is engraved on the cap ring. The remarkable pen features a handcrafted 18K gold nib engraved with the royal crown. The uniqueness of each piston-filler fountain pen is guaranteed by an engraved edition number and limited to only 4,810 pieces worldwide. Bottle fill only.
