Montblanc Limited William Faulkner Fountain Pen
Montblanc’s 2007 Writers Collection limited edition series honors the famous American novelist, poet and screenwriter, William Faulkner (1897-1962). Regarded as one of the most influential writers of the 20th century, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1949. Faulkner donated a portion of his Nobel winnings to establish a fund to support aspiring writers which resulted in the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction. Raised in Mississippi, many of his short stories and novels took place in the region, generating
comparisons to Mark Twain and Tennessee Williams. His important works include The Sound and the Fury (1929), As I Lay Dying (1930), and The Unvanquished (1938). The Faulkner fountain pen is a medium-sized piston-filler crafted in pearlized brown resin with engraved, platinum-plated overlay, retro-style clip and fittings. The 18K gold
nib is platinum plated and decorated with an engraved biplane, recalling the great author’s passion for flying. The series also includes a ballpoint pen and a collector’s three-piece set with fountain pen, ballpoint and 0.7mm pencil. Fountain pen is bottle fill only.
