AURORA LIMITED NOBILE VERMEIL FOUNTAIN PEN
Aurora salutes the daring expedition to the North Pole of General Umberto Nobile and his crew aboard the airship, Italia, in 1928. During the flight, the dirigible crashed and 18 passengers, including General Nobile, were stranded in a remote area of the Arctic. For 48 days, the survivors battled the elements and prayed for rescue with the now-famous red tent as their only shelter. Gen. Nobile kept copius notes in his diary, writing with an Aurora pen every day until the team was finally rescued. Aurora honors the courage and indomitable spirit of Gen. Nobile with a new limited edition, re-creating the original 1920’s mechanism – a safety fountain pen with eye dropper filling system. The pen barrel is handcrafted in hard rubber, or ebonite, just like many pens from the era. The cap is fashioned in vermeil with refined guilloche patterns, accented with decorative engravings on the rings and clip. The vermeil fountain pen has an 18K gold nib and a matching capped rollerball. Both pens are packaged with a unique “red tent” presentation; fountain pen includes a commemorative bottle of ink.
