Omas Darwin I Think Limited Edition Fountain Pen
Omas dedicates this new "I Think" limited edition to the study of evolution on the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth and the 150th year since “On the Origin of the Species” was published. Darwin made his historic voyage aboard the HMS Beagle in 1831-1836, which led him to his decisive scientific discoveries in the Galapagos Islands. The route taken by HMS Beagle is faithfully reproduced on the 925 sterling silver barrel of the fountain pen in intricate detail. Look at the pen through a magnifying glass to discover text and images not apparent to the naked eye. The pen is adorned with engravings of the species whose various mutations led to Darwin’s theory: a mockingbird sits on the crown; turtle, iguana, lizard, flamingo, gannet and gecko footprints “walk” up the clip. The cap ring is engraved with a DNA helix, and four twists of hawser encircle the ends. Like the HMS Beagle itself, the body of the pen is crafted in mature oak wood. The piston-filler fountain pen has an 18K gold nib engraved with a mockingbird. Limited to 1,000 fountain pens amd 890 capped rollerballs.
