The OMAS Istanbul pays homage to the Conquest of Constantinople in 1453 by the Ottoman sultan Mehmed II. Considered a national hero in Turkey, Mehmed’s conquest brought an end to the Byzantine Empire. The breathtaking pen is crafted in 925 sterling silver with gold vermeil finish and black enamel. Two medallions in high relief depict the city of Constantinople and Mehmed II. The dome of the famous Istanbul landmark, Hagia Sophia, is found on the pen end and the 18K gold nib.
