Acme Frank Lloyd Wright Inspired Card Cases

Born in Wisconsin in 1867, Frank Lloyd Wright grew up to be America’s greatest and most innovative architect. His legacy is one of America’s foremost cultural treasures. When Architectural Record magazine published a list of the 100 most significant buildings in the world - 11 were by Frank Lloyd Wright. Acme Studios brings the works of the noted architect into your hands with these fascinating pens and accessories. The designs are screened on brass or steel and layered with transparent lacquer. The black-with-primary-colors motif is an interpretation of Wright’s designs for the Avery Coonley house constructed in 1907-08. The estate consisted of several buildings including a playhouse for the Coonley’s young daughter. The black and grey square patterns evoke the Ennis House, one of the first to use modular concrete block, which Wright cast with Mayan effects. The black finish with subtly lined patterns echoes the art glass windows of the Robie House, designed by Wright for his client Frederick C. Robie in 1910. It is considered one of the most important buildings in the history of American architecture, inspiring an architectural revolution. Its sweeping horizontal lines, dramatic overhangs, stretches of windows and open floor plan make it a quintessential Prairie style house. The Coonley, Robie or Currier (Brick) card cases are plated in silver trim. Each piece is a work of modern art you can admire, use or give as a unique gift!

"Have become a big fan. Have one of the early Mondaine Railroad watches and get continous comments on it. That model seems to be gone now. Have also bought cuff links and once in a while, like today, a pen... but have to be careful... I could quickly become a PEN JUNKIE like my Dad was with stuff like you have. I mean that as a sincere compliment!!" Customer Comment May '12
