Montegrappa Limited Ballet Sterling Fountain Pen

Moscow's Bolshoi theatre has for over two centuries been the temple of Russian culture. The emotions that the Bolshoi has inspired are now legendary, as are the dancers such as Rudolf Nuryev who have made their careers there. Now, for the 230th anniversary this monument to ballet and opera, Montegrappa has translated the passion of the Russian soul into its Tribute to Ballet Limited Edition. If there is any common denominator between the Russian approach to ballet and the Italian approach to design, it is passion. Montegrappa packs Italy's entire rich legacy of hand-made emotions into its limited edition pens, just as the Bolshoi Theatre has from the outset imbued all its spectacles with the mysterious riches of the enigmatic Russian soul. The facade of the building is depicted on the barrel of the pen in sterling silver, using the low-relief engraving technique. The cap is made of precious white mother-of-pearl resin that conveys the lightness of dance. The sterling silver ring cap is engraved with two dancers on a pink gold plating background. Limited to 574 pieces to reflect the number of seats in the theatre, the sterling silver fountain pens have a two-tone, 18K gold nib in fine, medium or broad. The pens are bottle fill only.

"Have become a big fan. Have one of the early Mondaine Railroad watches and get continous comments on it. That model seems to be gone now. Have also bought cuff links and once in a while, like today, a pen... but have to be careful... I could quickly become a PEN JUNKIE like my Dad was with stuff like you have. I mean that as a sincere compliment!!" Customer Comment May '12
