Dupont Samurai Limited Edition Neo-Classique President Fountain Pen
This year’s limited edition by S.T. Dupont is a tribute to the magnificent warriors of yesterday and tomorrow, and to their values of courage, nobility and strength. The objects, engraved with a braided motif from the hilt of a katana, are finished with a shiny midnight blue lacquer. The blue, which is a recurrent colour in Japanese art, is enhanced with deep garnet notes, which
evokes noble blood. The items are also decorated with silver leather lozenges marked with a snakeskin effect to embody the powerful and agile character of the Samurai. A decorative added part in palladium inspired by the helmets (kabutos) adorns the lighter, and a hilt evoking the swords enhances the pen. Finally, a garnet ribbon faithfully reproduces the knot of the katana on the hilt of the pen. The nib set is entirely engraved with a clouds motif, and the nib is signed with the crest of a Samurai clan (mon). The top of the cap is signed with a D and the end of the barrel with the Samouraï mon. The lighter and Néo-Classique Large FP and Roller ball are numbered out of 888, the Néo-Classique Président pen out of 288, as 8 is a number that is believed to bring good luck in Asia.
