Delta Limited Edition Sami Silver Fountain Pen
Delta continues its fascinating Indigenous People collection with a tribute to the Sami – one of the oldest surviving
cultures in the world. Popularly known as the Lapps, the
Sami have inhabited Northern Scandinavia for approximately 4,000 years and have established an economy based on
reindeer herding, hunting, fishing and handicrafts. After
centuries of struggle to maintain their autonomy, the Sami now enjoy official recognition with a capital in Karasjok,
Norway, a Sami Parliament and their own flag. Delta’s limited edition writing instruments celebrate the Sami customs and culture in hand-turned resins that capture the colors of the flag – bright blue, red, yellow and green. Precious metal rings are engraved with traditional Sami textile patterns in high relief. A cabochon in the cap’s crown features an engraved symbol of the Sami Parliament; the clip has an enameled
replica of the Sami flag. The fountain pen is available in the Special Limited model with vermeil accents (963 pieces), or in the Limited version with sterling silver trim (1,963 pieces). Both feature a flexible, 18K gold nib engraved with a stylized reindeer motif. A sterling silver convertible ball pen/rollerball is also available. Silver fountain pen uses cartridges or converter.
