Pelikan Limited Lighthouse Of Alexandria Fountain Pen
The Lighthouse of Alexandria fountain pen is the fourth edition in Pelikan’s Seven Wonders of the Ancient World series. An indispensible guide for ancient seafarer’s, the gigantic Lighthouse had a beam that was visible for up to 31 miles. The tower was built around 300 BC and took 20 years to complete; at 440 feet in height, it is still considered to be the tallest one ever built. The tower survived for more than 1,000 years, but was ultimately destroyed by an earthquake in 1323. Its ruins still remain at the bottom of Alexandria’s East Harbor. Like the Lighthouse itself, Pelikan’s piston-filler fountain pen is colossal in size and craftsmanship: from the artistic engraving of the Lighthouse on the front section to the dark blue lacquered barrel with generous gold-plated accents. The cap has four stylized lighthouse windows and a unique gold-plated clip. The fountain pen nib is intricately handcrafted in 18K gold with an engraved beacon motif. The exceptional Lighthouse of Alexandria is a limited edition of 440 fountain pens, each presented under a glass dome modeled in the shape of the lighthouse – a tribute to the massive achievement and architectural skill of the ancient Egyptian civilization.
