Perhaps the most spectacular release of its 175th Anniversary year, Pelikan’s Limited Edition M1000 Raden Sunlight Fountain Pen will take your breath away! A superb example of Japanese Maki-e artistry, the Raden Sunlight is inlaid with choice abalone pieces which originate in the Sea of Japan. The rainbow-colored parts of the small shells used for this precious fountain pen are particularly rare. The abalone is flattened into thin sheets, cut into narrow strips and affixed to the rich, black hand-lacquered finish around the cap and barrel of the pen. More lacquer is applied, and the surface is polished before the Maki-e artist individually signs and numbers each pen.
The Pelikan M1000 is ideal for those who love to write - it has the largest ink capacity of any piston fountain pen on the market and an extra-large 18K gold and rhodium nib. Each fountain pen is presented in a traditional Japanese wood gift box.
