USS NORTH CAROLINA FOUNTAIN PEN

New! An authentic WWII naval relic – USS North Carolina handcrafted pens. Hold U.S. naval history in your hand! These collectible pens are handcrafted from teak decking removed from the battleship USS North Carolina and accented with gold-plated fittings. The historic “BB 55” was commissioned on April 9, 1941 and was the Navy’s first modern battleship. During her shakedown cruises and trips into New York Harbor, she earned the nickname, “The Showboat”. The USS North Carolina entered the WWII arena on June 10, 1942 and participated in every major naval offensive in the Pacific, earning more battle stars than any other battleship in the U.S. Navy. Tokyo Rose reported her sunk on six different occasions, much to the surprise of her 2,000 officers and crew! Decommissioned in 1947, BB 55 was saved by the people of North Carolina and dedicated as a memorial to all service members from the state who perished during World War II. Today, you can visit the USS North Carolina at Eagles Island in Wilmington, NC. The hand-turned, polished wood pens are available as a fountain pen with steel nib, a capped rollerball or a twist ball pen. Carry this proud part of U.S. history while the limited production pieces last. Fountain pen is cartridge/converter fill. Medium nib only.

USS CONSTITUTION FOUNTAIN PEN
  $140.00
Here’s an authentic relic history buffs will love! These fountain pens are handcrafted in wood taken from the USS Constitution, the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world today. The wood was removed from the ship in 1973 as part of a refitting done by the U.S. Navy. The ship was launched in 1797, one of six frigates authorized by Congress to defend the trade of our young republic. Soon she was serving with distinction against Barbary pirates in the Mediterranean. Her greatest fame came in the War of 1812 when she defeated several British frigates and earned the nickname “Old Ironsides”, when cannonballs reportedly bounced off her thick oaken hull. She returned to Boston in 1897 for her Centennial celebration and has remained there since. The hand-turned, polished wood pens are available as a fountain pen with steel nib or a capped rollerball. Fountain pen uses cartridges or converter.
