CLASSIC PENS KIMONO FOUNTAIN PEN
  $2,200.00
We are delighted to present to you the mesmerizing LB2 Kimono pens from Classic Pens. The company has established itself by creating new and original designs that transcend their function to become objects of beauty as precious as jewelry, as well as future heirlooms. The LB2 Kimono pen designs are completely handmade by the celebrated Japanese maki-e artist, Tatsuya Todo. Using a Parker Duofold Centennial fountain pen as his canvas, the artist employs the Togidashi technique by painting on the urushi colored lacquers, layering it with gold dust, then burnishing the lacquer to reveal the design and give it a lustrous shimmer. To enhance the pattern, high relief, concentric gold and silver circles are created through numerous layerings of lacquer, gold and silver dust, and polishing. The rings give a unique and pleasant feel to the pen as you write. The long and meticulous process is finished when the prestigious Red Seal signature of the artist is placed on the barrel. The individually numbered pens are available in two color themes: the green Shinrin (Forest) or the orange-bronze Sakyu (Desert) and are limited to 100 pieces of each color. The Duofold Centennial features Parker’s outstanding 18K gold nib. Uses cartridges or converter. Bonus! As a complimentary gift with the purchase of a Kimono pen, you will receive a copy of the fabulous new book on the iconic pen, Parker Duofold, by David Shepard and Dan Zazove. An $80.00 value.
