Montblanc Limited Edition Writers Edition Leo Tolstoy Rollerball Pen
The Montblanc Writers Edition 2015 pays tribute to Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910), the Russian master of realist fiction and author of the epic works War and Peace and Anna Karenina. In addition to penning these and other important novels, Count Leo Tolstoy spent much of his life striving to live a simple life despite his aristocratic roots and meteoric rise to fame. Yasnaya Polyana, the home where Tolstoy lived with his family, is the inspiration for the Limited Edition Leo Tolstoy. The pillars at the entrance of Yasnaya Polyana are echoed in the shape of the top of the cap, crowned with the Montblanc emblem in black and white resin. Tolstoy’s philosophy of working the land is symbolized in the elaborately handcrafted and hammered silver-plated barrel. The dark grey precious resin cap, blue marbled resin cone and platinum-plated fittings mirror the colors found in the study where he wrote his most important works. The cap ring is etched with a traditional Russian pattern found on the modest peasant smocks Tolstoy made for himself. The great author’s signature is engraved on the cap; the family's aristocratic coat-of-arms is engraved on the rhodium plated 18K solid gold nib. The Writers Edition 2015 includes a piston-fill fountain pen, capped rollerball, twist ballpoint pen, and a three-piece set with fountain pen, ballpoint pen and pencil.
