Montblanc Great Characters Beatles Rollerball
The new Montblanc Great Characters, The Beatles Special Edition is dedicated to the four musicians from Liverpool who, in just a few years, became the most successful rock band of the 20th century. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr released their first single, “Love Me Do”, in October 1962. It took the world by storm, starting a wave of ‘Beatlemania’ and a string of top ten hits. In America, the Fab Four made the charts with as many as 12 songs at the same time – once even occupying all five top spots.
It’s hard to believe it was 50 years ago when the Beatles released the groundbreaking concept album, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”. The influential album is the inspiration for the overall design of the Montblanc Great Characters Special Edition. The pen cap and barrel are crafted using a newly developed multi-color stripe lacquering process, emulating the Beatles’ uniform on the album cover. The ruthenium-coated clip design features the band members’ four mustaches. The famous Abbey Road recording studio is represented by the microphone-shaped cap topped with the Montblanc emblem in black and white resin. The fountain pen has a ruthenium-coated, 18K gold nib engraved with an apple design. The Beatles Special Edition collection also includes a twist ballpoint pen, capped rollerball, notebook with fabric cover, and Beatles Psychedelic Purple bottle ink, ballpoint and rollerball refills.
