American Heritage USS Constitution Fountain Pen
The USS Constitution Fountain Pen is handcrafted from reclaimed wood from the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world today. The wood was removed from the ship in 1973 during a refitting by the U.S. Navy. She was first launched in 1797, one of six frigates authorized by Congress to defend our young republic. She soon served with distinction against Barbary pirates in the Mediterranean. Her greatest fame came in the War of 1812 when she defeated several British frigates and earned the nickname ‘Old Ironsides’ when cannonballs reportedly bounced off her oaken hull. She returned to Boston in 1897 for her Centennial celebration and has remained there since.
These newly-designed Constitution pens are trimmed with chrome-plated accents and are available in fountain pen with medium steel nib, ballpoint pen or capped rollerball.
