Montegrappa Limited Edition Lord of the Rings Fountain Pen
This seminal work of fantasy needs little introduction. J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic trilogy is estimated to have sold more than 150 million copies since publication in 1954-55. Meanwhile Sir Peter Jackson’s blockbuster movie trilogy (2001-03) grossed $3 billion, while selling more than 100 million home entertainment units and winning 475 international awards.
It is, quite simply, a franchise at the very pinnacle of fantasy culture. The Lord of the Rings Limited Edition features a Charcoal celluloid core enveloped by a lost-wax casting in Sterling Silver (379 FP, 379 RB) Edition sizes refer to the batches of rings forged for elves, dwarves and men, and the 20 Rings of Power forged by the Dark Lord Sauron.
The pen features a replica of the One Ring ( gold-plated silver respectively) which can be removed and worn, and an Eye of Sauron made from hand-enamelled resin. The gold variant features an emerald positioned at the top of the barrel, with zirconia crystal featured on silver versions. These are just the most visible features of one of our most richly detailed designs ever – featuring more than two dozen separate movie elements.
Fountain pens feature a piston-fed, 6mm, 18k Gold nib available in EF, F, M, B, BB and Stub 1.1 and decorated in gold leaf with J.R.R. Tolkien’s notorious monogram – a symbol featured on the spine of all his books. Also available in matching roller ball pen.
The collection is presented in a luxurious piano black lacquered wooden box.
