LAMY Ideos is a new product family designed by EOOS which inovatively interprets Lamy’s design principles. Combining the basic forms of triangle and circle creates a surprisingly natural, stylized teardrop shape that facilitates a unique haptic writing experience. The Ideos fountain pen and ballpen are made from brass housing refined with palladium, polished stainless steel clip. The fountain pen has a chrome-plated nib housing and a stainless steel nib.

Looks machine-made, but actually feels hand-finished

This can be good and bad. The fit of the grip to the body of the pen wiggles, which isn't ideal. But it doesn't impact usage so I was pleasantly surprised to find details like this and the weld seam on the interior of the body and cap. These make the pen more personable and I enjoyed it. Solid Lamy nib - if you've owned one you know what I'm talking about. Decently springy (I bought a F) The grip actually isn't slippery, holds well. The pen body and cap are forgiving of fingerprints, looks good even when dirty. Overall the pen is extremely lightweight. This plus the fact that it's long when the cap is posted, the teardrop shape makes it easy to index without looking, and the nib (in Lamy fashion) writes well reversed, makes this a really good pen for designers and architects (I gave it to my architect friend and he agrees). My only concern is how well the cap snaps onto the body for closure and posting. It doesn't post that securely and I foresee this weakening over time. I hope to be proven wrong!
