Visconti Special Van Gogh Fountain Pen Gift Set
Visconti Van Gogh special edition gift sets
The Van Gogh series in beautifully crafted gift sets. Through painstaking trial and error, Visconti recreates the colors from the painter’s palette to represent some of Van Gogh’s most beloved artworks. Each pen is one of a kind – the translucent depth of the vegetal resin is enhanced by the amazing 18-faceted barrel. The fountain has Visconti’s large steel nib with Van Gogh’s signature. The Van Gogh series is available in fountain pen, rollerball and ballpen. All three modes are accompanied by a bookmark showing a detail of the painting.

The Old Vineyard with Peasant Woman:  The Visconti Van Gogh ''Old Vineyard with Peasant Woman'' pen is inspired on one of Vincent Van Gogh's last paintings, painted in 1890, in the final months of his life. For this painting he used pencil, brush and oil paint and watercolour. Van Gogh began with a pencil drawing. Then he added oil paint and watercolour in many different shades of blue. He painted some of the roofs red, but these have since faded to brown. The fountain pen comes with a steel nib, a bottle of ink in Old Vineyard with Peasant Woman Grey.

The Orchard in Blossom:
Shortly after arriving in the city of Arles, in the south of France, Van Gogh became intrigued by the flowering fruit trees that populated the orchards there in the spring of 1888. He began to paint many flowering fruit trees like peach, almond, and apricot. Orchards in Blossom is dated April 1888 and is thought to depict plum trees in full bloom. The fountain pen comes with a rose gold plated steel nib and a bottle of ink in Orchard in Blossom purple.

The Wheatfield with Crows: Considered by many art historians to be one of Van Gogh's most famous paintings, Wheatfield with Crows is often incorrectly thought of as the last painting by the reknowned artist. This belief stemmed from the subject matter and use of color in the painting conveying a tumultuous sky and the end of the path with looming crows overhead. Wheatfield with Crows, dated July 1890. The fountain pens comes with a gold plated steel nib and a bottle of ink in Wheatfields with Crows blue.

The Novel Reader: The Visconti Van Gogh Collection “The Novel Reader”, a work created by Vincent Van Gogh in November 1888. Behind what at first glance might seem simply a young woman reading a book lies a real revolutionary message. The yellow color of the book cover indicates that it is a modern novel, acceptable reading for a man, but inadmissible for a woman. What immediately catches the attention is in fact the intensity and the involvement of the mysterious reader towards the novel, perfectly represented by the brushstrokes of Van Gogh. The fountain pen comes with a gold plated steel nib and a bottle of ink in Novel Reader lime green.

Oiran: Van Gogh's most treasured and iconic paintings, the Japonaiserie OiranVan Gogh based this painting on a woodcut by the Japanese artist Kesai Eisen. The Visconti ‘Oiran’ collection is made from natural resin, brought to life by blue, purple, red and green hues to recreate Van Gogh’s technique, emotion and mood portrayed in this remarkable painting. The fountain pen comes with a rose gold plated steel nib and a bottle of  ink in Oiran in deep purple.

Sunflowers:
Van Gogh painted with Sunflowers in three shades of yellow ‘and nothing else’. In doing so, he demonstrated that it was possible to create an image with numerous variations of a single color without any loss of eloquence. The Visconti ‘Sunflowers’ collection is made from natural resin, brought to life by vibrant yellow hues expressing a special significance for Van Gogh: ‘gratitude’. The fountain pen comes with a steel nib and a bottle of ink in Sunflower ochre yellow.

Flowering Plum Orchard:
The ancient plum tree that was the subject of the original print "Flowering Plum Orchard" had the poetic nickname of "the sleeping dragon plum tree". Van Gogh accurately reproduced the composition with more intense colors replacing the black and grey of Hiroshige's tree trunk with red and blue tones. He also added the two orange borders with Japanese characters for a decorative and exotic effect. The artist made this painting in 1887 from a Japanese print by Hiroshige, called Plum Garden in Kameido. The fountain pen comes with a gold plated steel nib and a bottle of ink in Flowering Plum Orchard red.
