Sensa Ltd Edition King Tut Ballpoint
Sensa, The World’s Most Comfortable pen, proudly announces the release of the KING TUT Limited Edition on the 100th anniversary of the discovery and entering of the young Pharaoh’s burial chamber in 1923. On November 26, 1922, archaeologist Howard Carter and his team discovered the doorway to the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings on the west bank of the Nile. Though archaeological digs had been undertaken throughout the area, most tombs had succumbed to looting and grave robbing, leaving them stripped bare of their original contents. King Tut’s tomb, however, had been hidden by debris and rubble, preserving it to near perfect condition. Despite discovering King Tut’s tomb in late 1922, it took several months for archaeologists to work their way through and catalogue the contents within the outer chambers. On February 16, 1923, Carter finally came face-to-face with the doorway leading to the tomb’s inner burial chamber and unsealed it. What he and his team were met with was the most well-preserved and intact tombs ever found. Over the following eight years, the items and goods contained therein were carefully catalogued and removed, and today are held in the collection of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. King Tut ruled Egypt as pharaoh for 10 years until his death at age 19, around 1324 B.C. He was barely known to the modern world until 1922, when British archaeologist Howard Carter chiseled into the intact tomb of King Tut. The tomb’s hoard of treasure, intended to accompany the king into the afterlife, revealed an incredible amount about life in ancient Egypt, and made Tutankhamun the world’s most famous pharaoh. Each Sensa King Tut Limited Edition barrel has been lacquered in a stunning Lapis Blue that also features King Tut’s famous death mask inlaid in Gold. Gold plated accents and a Gold Plasmium grip complete each pen. Limited to 150 Ball Point Pens Worldwide, the Sensa King Tut Limited Edition is a stunning tribute to this young Pharaoh whose undisturbed tomb discovery became one of the wonders of the world.
