William Henry Limited Edition George Washington Horse Chestnut Knife
Pull this knife from your pocket and you'll have a great story to tell! Fahrney's is proud to present our exclusive new limited edition knife custom made for us by the artisans at William Henry Studio. The beautiful knife features an inlay of the natural wood from a Horse Chestnut tree planted by George Washington. The tree was the last surviving of 13 planted by our first president on Faquier Street in Fredericksburg, Virginia, to represent each of the existing colonies. The trees provided shade for his mother and sister as they walked between their houses. The wood was furnished by Historical Woods of America, a firm that reclaims fallen or damaged trees of historic significance to preserve their legacies.
The knife was conceived to evoke the style and architecture of the colonial era. Its intricate frame has a totally new pattern created by the craftsman at William Henry in Koftgari, a difficult technique of hand inlaying 24K gold and sterling silver into a tool steel frame. Two precision cut citrine gemstones are set into 18K gold bezels on the button lock and the knife guard. The blade is forged in Damascus steel with a 'Wave' pattern and coated in black tungsten carbide for superior wear resistance. Fittings and fasteners are custom fabricated from stainless steel and titanium. The color and veining of the wood will vary with each knife.
