Product Description

Caran d'Ache Limited Edition Nespresso Ballpoint Pen
New! Caran d’Ache & Nespresso team up for a unique limited edition! In collaboration with Nespresso, Caran d’Ache presents a new 849 limited edition ball pen made using the aluminum from recycled Nespresso capsules. The exclusive writing instrument was conceived by the two iconic Swiss companies who share common values: sustainable development, innovation and Swiss design quality. In 2015, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Nespresso’s commitment to recycling, the company launched its Second Life project to breathe new life into its used capsules through a range of Swiss-made products like the Victorinox Swiss Army knife and the Zena vegetable peeler.

Every year, a new capsule color is selected for the Second Life collection – for 2018 the ‘Darkhan’ capsule lends its slate blue color to the 849. The Caran d’Ache R & D laboratory conducted numerous tests to create an exclusive alloy using the recycled aluminum that would meet the quality requirements of the 849. The result is a collectible, limited edition writing instrument that is both robust and sustainable while boasting the timeless hexagonal shape and click-top activator of the 849. “Made with recycled Nespresso Capsules” is engraved on the pen to ensure the authenticity of the limited edition.
