Pelikan Souveran M805 Stresemann Anthracite Fountain Pen
As foreign minister of the Weimar Republic, Gustav Stresemann (1879- 1929), was honored with the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1926, acknowledging his diplomatic work between the nations after World War I. Beyond his impressive political career, Stresemann also became famous for his pinstriped suits that were sufficiently formal for official functions yet comfortable for work at the office. Stresemann's pinstriped suits became legendary... and suddenly, people called the striped fountain pens from Pelikan - that were just beginning to be recognized around the world - by the name of 'Stresemann'. Both the suits and the pens still carry that name to this day.
To officially honor this legend, Pelikan crafted the new Stresemann barrel with deceptively simple anthracite stripes. Made from cellulose acetate, the traditional process that creates the pinstripe pattern is extremely work-intensive. Finely turned pieces of high-quality black resin are used on the cap, grip and pen end. The clip and rings are plated with sleek palladium. The fountain pen nib is solid 18K gold and rhodinized to obtain a silver sheen. This elegant series consists of an over-sized 800 piston-fill fountain pen, twist ball pen and capped rollerball. The Pelikan 805 Stresemann series is well-suited for remarkable writing!
