Product Description

Graf Von Faber-Castell Limited Edition 2015 Pen Of The Year Fountain Pen
At the end of the Seven Years War in 1763, Frederick the Great began building his most ambitious project to celebrate Prussia's success: the New Palace of Sanssouci. The Palace is situated in the Sanssouci Royal Park in Potsdam, Germany, and is considered to be the last great Prussian baroque palace. Magnificent ballrooms, impressive galleries, handsomely furnished apartments, a baroque palace theater - all ensured that guests from the German and European aristocracy could celebrate in style. As a connoisseur of colored natural stones, King Frederick had a keen interest in the plentiful resources of Silesia and a sovereign right to all precious stones. Frederick the Great personally traveled to Silesia to select the green serpentine used to decorate the New Palace of Sanssouci, which is the inspiration for the Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year 2015. The platinum-plated barrels of the limited edition fountain pen and rollerball are inset with four polished Silesian serpentines ranging in color from emerald to apple-green, and are lavishly embellished with baroque engraving. A faceted, shimmering grey Russian Quartz crowns the cap. The fountain pen offers a plunger mechanism and a hand-engraved, bi-color 18K gold nib. Each individually numbered pen is presented in an exclusive black wood case. Please call for information on the 24K gold 2015 Pen of the Year. Bottle fill only.
