Montblanc Special Edition Great Characters Miles Davis Fountain Pen
The Montblanc Great Characters Miles Davis Special Edition writing instruments are inspired by one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century. Miles Davis (May 26, 1926 – September 28, 1991) is regarded as one of the most influential and acclaimed musicians in the history of jazz and 20th century music. With his ever-changing directions in music, Davis was at the forefront of a number of major stylistic developments in jazz over his five-decade career.
Sharp and sleek like the music created by this icon of jazz, the Montblanc Great Characters Miles Davis Special Edition features a cap and barrel in precious black resin with its contrasting platinum-coated fittings. The overall shape of the pen is inspired by the trumpet, emphasized through the trumpet finger buttons on the clip. The shape of the cone is inspired by the mouthpiece in the famous trumpet “Gustat” Heim 2. The blue color of the cone reminds of Miles’ record “Kind of blue”, regarded as the greatest jazz album of all times. The pattern on the brass platinum-coated cap and barrel is inspired by 5 major stylistic developments in jazz, which Miles Davis stands for. Also a special engraving on the pen commemorates his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. Available in Fountain Pen, Rollerball and Ballpoint Pen, this edition features the Montblanc emblem in classic black and white precious resin.
The 18 karat gold nib fountain pen is engraved with Miles Davis' silhouette.
