Montblanc Writers Edition Kipling Fountain Pen
Montblanc Writers Edition 2019 –
English writer Rudyard Kipling
For its 28th Writers Edition series, Montblanc pays homage to the revered English writer and poet, Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936). Available as a piston-fill fountain pen, capped rollerball and twist ballpoint pen, the Montblanc Writers Edition Kipling takes its main inspiration from his famous story, The Jungle Book. The overall color is a nod to the cover of the first U.S. edition of The Jungle Book in Jungle Green pre- cious resin, enhanced with platinum-coated fittings. The distinctive clip top is the shape of a wolf’s head cast in high relief to recall the wolf pack in The Jungle Book. Engravings on the cap and cone rings are lines from Kipling’s famous poem, If: “If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs . . . you’ll be a man, my son!”. Kipling’s signature ‘R.K.’ initials are etched on the cap. A world globe is engraved on the 18K gold fountain pen nib. The cap is crowned with the Montblanc emblem in precious resin. A second variation, the Montblanc Writers Edition, Homage to Kipling Limited Edition 1895, features the same silhouette in a green lacquer with champagne gold-coated skeleton overlay depicting a monkey and tiger stripes. The 18K gold fountain pen nib is engraved with an elephant. The Montblanc emblem on the cap crown is crafted in mother-of-pearl.
