It uses fountain pen ink and fills easily using a cartridge or a converter for bottle ink. The brush tip has synthetic hair-like bristles that create thick or thin strokes as you vary the pressure. The sleek, black lacquered aluminum pens are decorated in two traditional Japanese motifs, Mt. Fuji & Cherry Blossoms or Crane & Sunrise, and are accented with gold-plated clip and trim. The designs are carefully hand-painted using Modern Maki-e techniques. Handsome gift box includes a black ink cartridge. Converter not included. Extra brush tips available.
