Montegrappa Ducale Murano Ballpoint Pen
Among the most successful revivals in the Montegrappa pen models is the classically-styled Ducale. First appearing in the 1930s, the Ducale honors the famed Doge’s Palace in Piazza San Marco.
Montegrappa is now inspired to honor a different part of the city - Ducale Murano pays homage to the legendary glass-making region of Venice, unparalleled in the world for creating works of art in glass.
Two distinctive pen finishes herald the arrival of the new Ducale Murano, both redolent of the colors and patterns devised by the craftsmen working in glass. The first is Ducale Murano – Tramonto Veneziano (Venetian sunset), with its striking, pearlized swirls of smoky grey and orange hues. Its companion is the Ducale Murano – Astratto (Abstract). Its blue, red and caramel shades of pearlised resin are mixed in together to create abstract color swirls, as found in Murano glass.
Consisting of a rollerball, a ballpoint pen and a fountain pen, the Ducale Murano is manufactured from resin and trimmed with polished stainless steel. The fountain pens are available with a wonderfully-crafted, stainless steel nib, decorated with the Montegrappa filigree motif. As with all Montegrappa pens, the clip terminates in the signature rolling ball to facilitate easy removal from or insertion into one’s pocket.
