Ink writes darker color than anticipated.

The quality of the ink is excellent, although it writes darker than I anticipated. I have tried it on various qualities of paper. Even as it has dried for awhile, it looks more slightly bluish black rather than the purple/blue-violet I expected.. I would call it dark or midnight navy blue. I have a bottle of this color on the way, so I will be interested to see if the color differs.
