Visconti Limited Edition Saturno Fountain Pen
Exploring the heavens for inspiration, Visconti launches the Saturno limited edition, a tribute to the second largest planet in our solar system. Saturn, the sixth planet from the sun, is named after the Roman god of agriculture and is best known for its prominent rings discovered in 1610 by the Italian astronomer, Galileo. The Saturno pens are turned from precious marbleized resins infused with a hint of stardust and accented with palladium or gold plating. The colors are named after Saturn's four largest moons: Black Rhea, Brown Dione, Blue Titan and Green Lapetus. The central band and grip section are inlaid with three enameled rings in matching hues. A stellar choice for everyday writing, the Saturno series includes a fountain pen enhanced with Visconti's 23K Dreamtouch Palladium nib and a capped rollerball. Limited to only 88 fountain pens and 44 rollerballs in each color - order soon for best selection.

A sweet pen!

The pen is very well made. The palladium nib is very smooth right out of the box and did not require any breaking in. I bought the medium nib, which with Visconti's black ink writes a little wet on the absorbent paper of my journal. It's not as noticeable on better quality paper. I've experienced a few problems with the feed stopping from time to time, but I haven't determined if the source of the problem is the feed mechanism or the ink; very likely the latter and I may test with other inks to see if the problem persists. I do love writing with this pen.

It's a lovely pen. I got the Rhea--black--which is quite handsome. I tend to like a larger pen and while this is closer to medium size, it fits my hand well.

Except for the occasional feed issue, the pen works quite well.

I think the pen is worth what I paid for it. I would make the same purchase again.

What is your opinion of the quality of this item?

Overall, this is a very good pen. I have well over 100 pens in my collection--all users and some a good deal more expensive--and I would rate this one in the top 15.
