Caran d’Ache is teaming up once again with British designer, Sir Paul Smith, to dress its iconic 849 ball pen in a new series of exclusive colors. Last year’s Edition One echoed the pastel palette of Paul Smith’s 2015 fashion collection. The new Edition Two is a selection of colors inspired by Smith’s famous signature stripe motif, often showcased in his permanent creations. Each pen carries the designer’s signature and is presented in a sculpted metal box with his trademark pattern of colored stripes. These vivid and trendy colors will also be very visible in his Autumn/Winter 2016 fashion collections.

Inviting Sir Paul Smith, the British designer celebrated for his flamboyant use of color, to choose new shades for its famous ball pen is another example of the bold creativity that drives Caran d'Ache. The 849 has been one of the company's cult pens since 1969, admired around the world for its distinctive hexagonal body, click-top mechanism and quality writing.
