Dupont Atelier Line D Medium Sun Burst Rollerball
In 2015, S.T. Dupont re-released a cult collection of natural lacquer pens and lighters called Atelier, an identical reproduction of past models incorporating the unique ancestral techniques used in its atelier in 1953. This year, Dupont revives another technique to create its new Atelier Sun Burst series, performed with graphic perfection by its master lacquerers. Authentic Chinese lacquer is expertly hand-applied in numerous layers. It has a sheen and depth that no synthetic can equal, a silky pearl-like feel, and a high resistance to scratches and heat. For the Atelier series, Dupont engraved its vintage script logo on the pens’ band and the Ligne 2 lighter; the date 1953 and the Dupont ‘winged wheel’ symbol note the founding date of the Faverges workshop.

All Dupont Chinese lacquer products carry an engraved tree leaf symbol. The numbered collection is offered in beautiful Sun Burst red, blue or green lacquer with palladium-plated trim including the medium-sized fountain pen with 14K gold nib, convertible rollerball and twist ball pen. The Ligne 2 lighter features a double cigar flame and the perfect ‘ping’, a sound instantly recognized by those in the know. Each piece is presented in a black lacquer collector’s box with a metal plate carrying the item’s serial number.
