The Atelier Natural Lacquer collection is among the finest that La Maison S.T. Dupont has to offer. Dupont was inspired to recreate its classic designs – its master lacquerers use authentic Chinese lacquer that is hand-gathered and blended like wine. Hand-applied in layers using an age-old technique called “Popoté”, the lacquer has a sheen and depth that no synthetic can equal, a silky pearl-like feel, and a high resistantance to scratches and heat. For the Atelier collection, Dupont engraved its vintage script logo on the pens’ band. All Dupont Chinese lacquer products carry an engraved tree leaf symbol. The numbered collection is offered in beautiful blue or warm brown Chinese lacquer with gleaming gold-plated accents. Dupont now offers the Line D Atelier writing instruments in a large size in all modes: fountain pen with Dupont’s finest 14K gold nib, convertible rollerball. and twist ball pen. Each piece is housed in an impressive black lacquer collector’s box with a brass plate carrying the item’s serial number.
