Delta Limited Edition Bribri Indigenous People Fountain Pen
The Bribri people of Costa Rica are honored in the latest release of Delta’s celebrated Indigenous People collection of limited edition writing instruments. Bribri are American Aborginal people living in the forests and Carribbean coastal areas of Costa Rica. Often referred to as “the hidden people” due to their extreme isolation, the Bribri maintain their language, culture and agricultural economy.
The Bribri pens are a beautiful interpretation of this culture in hand-turned resins of black with swirling fuchsia and red. A medallion set in the crown portrays a miniature ancient breastplate from pre-Colombian goldsmith art. The clip depicts a frog perched in a tree branch (there are more than 100 different species where the Bribri live!). The central band reproduces a Bribri tribal mask. These detailed parts are cast using traditional “lost wax” techniques, polished by hand and finished with precious rhodium.
All Bribri fountain pens are fitted with Delta’s own patent-pending Fusion nib, a unique fusing of an 18K gold plate over steel that creates a smooth ink flow. The nibs are engraved with a mischievous frog’s hand. Limited to 977 pieces of each mode, the collection includes a piston-filler fountain pen in gold or rhodium, and a cartridge/converter fountain pen, capped rollerball and twist ball pen, all with rhodium accents. Each piece is presented in a custom-designed collector’s box. Cartridge/converter fill.
