Graf von Faber-Castell is celebrating the 250th anniversary of Faber-Castell with a very special limited edition – Elemento. The gorgeous collection consists of a fountain pen, rollerball, ball pen and 0.7mm pencil with barrels formed in cross-grained olive wood. A technical innovation has made it possible to enhance the natural markings of the wood in a way that was previously unknown. As with marquetry, six individual pieces of cross-grained wood are inlaid into the barrel. After multiple steps of polishing and lacquering, the wood reveals its characteristic grain with fascinating colors ranging from hazel to honey. The wood reappears as a medallion in the end cap of each pen. The fountain pen is the collection’s crowning glory with its extra-large, bi-color nib in solid 18K gold. The rollerball holds a magnum-size refill; the ball pen and pencil have twist-advance mechanisms. The four-piece set includes the fountain pen, ball pen, rollerball and a 0.7mm pencil. A two-piece set with fountain pen and ball pen is also available. The Elemento sets are limited to 250 pieces each and come in a lacquered wood presentation case.
