Graf Von Faber-Castell Limited Edition Heritage Fountain Pen
For its 255th Anniversary, Graf Von Faber-Castell pays tribute to Ottilie & Alexander von Faber-Castell and the origin of the company’s name. During the
late 1800s, Lothar von Faber was producing the first branded writing instruments in his pencil factory near Nuremberg, laying the foundation for his international company’s future. He chooses his granddaughter Baroness Ottilie von Faber as his business successor. Ottilie, a beauty with a strong character, mastered the challenge of managing a large company at a young age - an unusual achievement for a woman during that era. In 1898, she falls in love and marries Count Alexander zu Castell-Ru¨denhausen. Due to a clause in Lothar von Faber’s will, the company was to keep the name “Faber” for all time, resulting in the creation of the new noble family “von Faber-Castell”.
Ottilie and Alexander’s personal taste and turn-of-the-century style inspired the extraordinary new sterling silver Limited Edition Heritage fountain pens. The gorgeous pen barrels are precisely guilloche engraved and elaborately lacquered in Ottilie’s favorite hue, violet, and the green color of Alexander’s Bavarian regiment. The crown of the elegantly fluted cap is decorated with the intertwined initials A, O, F & C. The handmade bicolored 18K gold nib is exceptional. The colors, patterns and extraordinary craftsmanship of the Limited Edition Heritage makes it one of Faber-
Castell’s finest. Limited to 1,898 fountain pens.
