What is your opinion of the quality of this item? I like the pen. I especially like the capless roller ball design. Unlike another reviewer, I haven't had any start up problems getting the ink flowing I have an old Esterbrook pen upon whose design this one was based. Those were fountain pens meant to be used in offices and banks. After 75 years or so, I can say it is a solid design. Grab the pen, write your note. This pen belongs beside your phone. Mine is in the kitchen. Great product for the price. I am happy overall, with one significant problem: No one makes it clear which refill I need to buy. This is pretty darn serious. I bought the pen at Fahrneys, why can't they make it clear which refill I should buy from them? Honestly! Is this a marketing strategy? What should I conclude?

What is your opinion of the quality of this item? I love the look, remniniscent of my collection of esterbrook bases on which it's obviously modeled. The pen is a bit disappointing-doesn't just write on being picked up as the design suggests it should. I wouldn't be happy using this as a desk pen. Great design. Not easy to use in the way it's intended due to hard-to start. Should be able to keep it by the phone, say, for quick notes, or on a desk for signatures, but not have to fiddle with it to use it. A fair price for what it is. As above
