good feel in the hand with the rubber grip, balance is very good, the point flows smoothly on paper, Unique design that is a comment on a famous auto, but still has the use and balance of a good fountain pen cap click soundly, cap installs on the body easily with slipping and the balance with cap installed is great for my hand For the price this pen fits in nicely. The Sheaffer 100 Ferrari rubber tire tread fountain pen is not only an excellent pen, it's a well-crafted machine that I can envision using for years to come. The rubber barrel and cap is an ingenious design. It's like a car that writes. I've read reviews of the nib being somewhat scratchy; I haven't found this to be the case at all. The stainless steel nib performs effortlessly and smoothly. I use it at work often for carbon copy order forms and it's strong enough to withstand the slighter pressure required for that use. This fountain pen is surely competitive with pens in the $100 and up range. Bravo to Sheaffer for producing a sturdy and elegant pen for much less. What is your opinion of the quality of this item? The pen is superb in every way. I'm already using it as much as I can because it feels so good in my hand.
