This pen compares well with the original Sheaffer Legacies that I own as well as other Sheaffer pens with inlaid nibs. The originals have gold nibs that had very little flex. This pen has a steel nib that actually has about as much of the minimal flex of the gold nibs. The fine point is a bit wide with strong ink flow, instant starts and no skipping. Excellent workmanship, flawless finish. I think the inner threads that connect the section to the barrel are plastic, not sure, function well and considering all the pens that are all plastic, not an issue. The cap is a little heavier and posted feels a little top heavy though not overly so. The original has perfect balance.
I plan on adding a medium point and the ballpoint. One of my daily writers has long been a Legacy and I want a new one now that it can accept a Parker style cartridge.
This is a worry successor to the original Sheaffer Legacy.
It is ironic that Mr. Nikhil Ranjan founded Wm. Penn to bring fine pens to India and now returns this iconic pen to the American market. Thank you, Ne. Ranjan.
