What is your opinion of the quality of this item? I have other Sailor 1911 pens. The "medium size" pens. I love them all. THIS pen is setting the bar even higher. It competes equally with my 30 year old Parker DuoFold that Parker used to service for FREE every year. You will NOT be disappointed with this pen. Well designed for even MULTIPLES of the price. How DOES Sailor do it? Slip the ink cartridge in and start writing. Doesn't get any simpler.... You cannot beat the value in any Sailor product. If I thought they would wear out, I would stock up. But they are durable and so wonderful right out of the box.... You will not be disappointed.

This is a very attractive pen, especially the 21K gold nib.

What is your opinion of the quality of this item? Although I ordered the Sailor 1911L with a medium nib, it almost feels like a fine point. This is the first Sailor pen I have purchased. However, by comparison with 3 Waterman pens with medium nibs and one with a fine nib, it feels more like a fine. I have noticed on a couple of pen blogs that apparently Sailor medium nibs do seem like fine nibs as compared to other "western" companies. I cannot see M on the nib so I will have to take the description on the box which states medium nib. All that said, the pen writes very smoothly with no skipping and is very comfortable to write with. So far I have only used a Sailor cartridge but have experienced no bleeding or blobbing. It writes well on common notepad material as well as higher grade paper such as found on Rhodia products. It is a bit pricey though but so far the quality appears to be worth it. In addition, the name engraving by Fahrney's turned out very professional and adds a stunning accent to an already impressive fountain pen. Design is great. No problems so far but I just received it a few days ago. It is very easy to use and it glides over the paper. It does have a screw cap that requires a few turns to take off or put on. Some may not like that but I have no problems with it. It might present problems with posting but only with regard to scratching the threading. It writes well without posting It is a bid pricey but it does have a 21K nib, although I am not sure that justifies the high price. Beautiful pen with very nice writing properties.

What is your opinion of the quality of this item? You couldn't ask for higher quality. I have large hands, so the design and size are perfect for me. If you're accustomed to writing with a fountain pen, you won't have a problem. It is easy to use. Value is very subjective, but I would rate this pen as true to its value. I can't over state the joy I've experienced in using the Sailor 1911 with the musical nib.
