What is your opinion of the quality of this item? I just received my Taccia Timeless Hexagon ballpoint pen and have been very impressed with it. The pen is actually a little larger and heavier than I expected, but I like the heft of it. The pen is nicely balanced, the finish is ruggedly attractive and the twist mechanism is smooth. I generally would prefer that it have tad more resistance when twisting, but that is just my own bias. What impressed me immediately upon first use was the incredibly smooth writing quality of the refill. This is easily one of the smoothest ballpoints I have ever used! Writing with it is a pleasure! I think that prolonged writing might be less attractive because of the shape and weight, but that remains to be seen. Normally I don't buy ballpoints, preferring fountain pens for most writing, so I tend to think that more expensive ballpoints are over priced because the refill is what writes. This pen, however, is exceptional, and the refill is amazingly smooth. Well worth the price! The Taccia Timeless Hexagon ballpoint is an outstanding pen! I think that giving it as a gift one would need to recognize that it is a hefty pen, and the hexagonal shape may not be comfortable to some writers. However, it's unique finish and exceptional writing quality make this a nice gift for any pen afficionado.

What is your opinion of the quality of this item? The heft and feel of the pen give off the impression of a high quality pen. I love the looks of this pen: sleek, metallic, with the panels and hexagonal shape. However, the edges along the body of the pen, and especially the corners of the tip of the clip, cut into the flesh of my hand as I write, making it impossible to use the pen all day long. I tried to file it down with fine grade sandpaper to no avail. I would like to see a click top design on this pen Due to the discomfort I am unable to use this pen all day long, so, no, it is not a good value. I think that I would like this pen much better if the edges of the metal weren't so sharp as to make the pen very uncomfortable to use for long periods of time. I also would like to see the click top actuation mode. The looks, feel, and heft of the pen are excellent.
