I am a small collector of fountain pens, primarily Auroras, Mont Blancs, Pelikans, S.T. Duponts -- and a few one-offs, e.g., Cartier, Lami, Waterman. When I saw this beautiful pen in the catalog, I was smitten. However, I had questions since it was my first Visconti-- so I spoke with the Fahrney's pen consultant prior to purchasing the pen. When the pen arrived, it was beautifully presented in a lovely lavender box. The deep vibrant colors of the pen, offset by the pearl-accents, were exactly as photographed in the catalog. The rose gold nib is beautiful and writes smoothly--almost as lush as the Pelikan nibs. And the rose gold trim elements provide beautiful accents. This is one of the beautiful pens I have ever seen. The pen is large, equivalent to the Pelikan 1000 series in girth. When the cap is posted, the pen feels a little long, so I leave the cap off. Filling the pen is challenging. I had to watch a couple YouTube videos to understand how to load the Double-Reservoir Power Filler, and it still took me three attempts to successfully fill the pen. I am looking forward to testing the 'no-leakage promise' on my next flight. Overall: I LOVE THIS PEN. It is strikingly beautiful, writes smoothly and exceeded my expectations! It has now joined my other favorites in my fountain pen collection. Enjoy!
