Overall What is your opinion of the quality of this item? Having received this pen on Sept. 25, I have been using it exclusively since this time. It truly is a “gem,” not only in appearance but in writing performance. The nib is very smooth with excellent ink flow, and I really enjoy writing with this pen. I refill my own cartridges, so I have been using that. While the nib does flex with minimal pressure, I do not see a great deal of line variation, but perhaps with a finer nib, that would be more noticeable. I am more into smoothness and ink flow than flex. Also, the pen’s size and weight are just right for me, so considering everything, I can recommend this pen without hesitation. I believe it is a great value for the price.

What is your opinion of the quality of this item? I'm a lefty and finding that perfect everyday pen within my budget has been a quest. With La Grande Bellezza, I may have found my grail. The size and unposted weight feels easy on my female hand, the resin marble blend smooth and warm. I like not having to twist a cap on and off constantly. The nib, oh the nib is amazing--responsive, springy, ready to write. Lefties push their pens rather than pull, often causing skips and stutters. This nib doesn't seem to care, it just goes. I initially got a medium nib, my go-to lefty-facilitating size, then exchanged for an extra-fine as medium proved too bold and wet. With XF, I get crisp letters with a smooth and consistent ink flow. I could doodle for hours. Bonus: Because I can write so lightly with this pen, my arthritis complains less.

What is your opinion of the quality of this item? I bought the Pineider Gemstones at Fahrney's store last week. The pen (perhaps due to the marble in the resin) has enough heft to give it substance, but not so much as to make it really heavy. As to the writing experience, if this pen wrote any better and more smoothly, it wouldn't even need me to hold it.
