What is your opinion of the quality of this item? For a sub $100 pen, the nib and barrel are good quality. The cap (and barrel) are not brass lined, and tend towards translucency, at least in the turquoise colour. Both ink and black nib housing show through, but it is not a demonstrator. The nib is a solid piece of steel, and good quality. Again, no brass lined, so it is a bit more fragile than some, and with a thinner barrel material, I would not let this roll lose in my briefcase. Because it is not brass lined, it is light weight and needs the cap on the butt to balance the nib correctly. Very easy to use. Fired up in one fill. Yes, this was an inexpensive pen, but with great value. This is a good first fountain pen for many, and with its design, very nice to look at. I have already written several letters with it. It has a good, smooth flow and a non-scratching nib that you frequently find in less expensive pens. Well worth it.

What is your opinion of the quality of this item? I have no complaints with the overall quality and in fact I use it all the time. I like the feel and look in my pocket and when I'm writing. It also gets noticed when others see me writing with it. I like the converter, especially that it screws in securely rather than just plugging into place. It holds plenty of ink and is easy to fill. The logo on the cap is just printed on and so it wore off very quickly. I really like the color and look, to me it's just enough flash. It's easy to fill, and I like the feel. The issue I have is what I have seen others complaining about and that is inconsistent ink flow. The result is that often it feels scratchy and won't write on poor quality paper. I end up having to unscrew the barrel and force the ink about every page. It's a bit of a pain and the only reason I don't give it 5 stars. The price was on the low end and it's worth what I paid for it, so I have no complaint. I didn't expect a $500 value, for $50. If you want a pen that looks nice and you are on a budget, I would recommend this pen. Just keep in mind it might have issues.

What is your opinion of the quality of this item? Not good. The pen with the converter would not fill with ink after several attempts.

Comfortable to write with, and the nib flows great.
