Ultem is very cool, but...

I really like this pen. Ultem is such a terrific material. The pen has a great weight, it feels really good in my hand. I really like the metal section. It balances the lightness of the pen very well. The size is very comfortable for my large hand.
BUT! The nib is TERRIBLE! I bought it with a fine nib. The tines of the nib were jammed together. It wrote very scratchy, and skipped a lot. I tried teasing the tines apart with a .002 inch spacer. I tried carefully pressing the nib against a hard surface. I adjusted the seating of the nib in the feed. I tried different inks. It's improved, but still a very unpleasant writing experience. I guess I will try replacing the nib with a standard Jowo nib to see if that improves it.
I really want to love this pen. Hopefully a new nib will fix things.
