I have been purchasing the Caran D'Ache brand recently and continue to be impressed with the look, quality of materials, functionality and ease of writing that each offers. I would highly recommend this brand to everyone. My most recent is the Varius Ebony Rose Gold Ballpoint, which has a soft feel due to being made of ebony wood and unique contrast between the dark ebony body and other rose gold parts of this fine quality pen.
