Like my other Esterbrook Estie, this oversized pen writes smoothly right out of the box. I got my usual medium nib. For a steel nib, it writes very smoothly and rivals many gold nibs in that respect. I like the feel of the oversized pen in my hand. It has quickly become a favorite!

Very pleased with this pen. I've been looking to get a large-size pen for a while and finally settled on the large Estie (F nib), and it turned out to be a great choice. Nice-looking, nicely weighted, and the nib writes very smoothly with just the right amount of purchase (for my taste). Recommended!
