Great pen. Glad I decided to buy it

The Heritage Word Gauge is a quality pen by Conklin. The piston filler is very robust and the ink window indicates how many words are left to write before you need to refill. The steel nib is smooth and pleasant to write with and has just the right wetness. The pen itself is a good length for my larger hands with the cap unposted. The cap does post nicely and securely.
The one not so positive thing is the owner cannot clean the piston and reservoir assemblies. If you find you need that done you need to send it to Conklin's repair center. This detail was not clear in the description of the pen. I would be happier if I could clean it myself, but I find that it is not a deal breaker with regards to the pen itself.
I tend to choose this pen over others that I have. I really enjoy using it and would highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about purchasing it. In addition, I got the usual great service from Fahrney's that I've come to expect. A great company to do business with!

Great pen by Conklin. Love the piston filler as well as seeing how much ink is left. Very smooth writing and ink flow. Nib is very smooth even for a steel nib. Highly recommend this pen.
