Though I own ... an embarrassing number of fountain pens and rollerballs from a variety of brands both new and vintage (Waterman, Parker, Sheaffer, Namiki, Pelikan, etc), I'd never tried Diplomat before. I love art moderne and mid-century modern, and the aesthetic of this pen appealed. The primary colors are a bit more vibrant in person than the web pics. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the craftsmanship. Solid construction, good heft, excellent fit and finish. Nib runs a bit stiff, but overall, a great writing experience. I've added Diplomat to the (ever growing) list.
