Product Description

American Heritage Battle of Gettysburg Ballpoint Pen
On that memorable day in November of 1863 when President Abraham Lincoln delivered his Gettysburg Address at the dedication of the Soldiers National Cemetery (now Gettysburg National Cemetery), a young Honey Locust tree stood about 150 feet from the speaker's platform. Being rooted on Cemetery Hill on the right side of the Union line, this tree was a silent witness to the Battle of Gettysburg that had raged there for three momentous days in July. Now, 150 years after the battle, only the Honey Locust and a few other witness trees remain at Gettysburg National Military Park. The Battle of Gettysburg pen is handcrafted from a portion of that Honey Locust, salvaged after a severe storm damaged part of the tree in 2008. Carefully crafted in the USA, the one-of-a-kind wood barrels and caps are turned and polished by hand, then equipped with black resin and polished chrome fittings. The fountain pen with steel nib and twist ball pen are engraved with 'Battle of Gettysburg'. Pay tribute to the 150-year history of the Civil War when you write with the Witness Tree pens.

Not as great as hoped
Overall

When advancing refill to the writing position and returning it the pen twists extremely hard. Not all smooth and easy. Very annoying to have to twist so hard.

Very hard to advance and return refill.

Would be a great value if it worked properly.

What is your opinion of the quality of this item?

Nice to have a part of history but wished it worked better.
